Get peace of mind while you travel across Mexico. From Oaxaca to Orizaba, travel with confidence with AllClear.
What is Mexico Travel Insurance, and why do you need it?
Mexico is an incredibly popular tourist hotspot, and it’s easy to see why. More than half a million Brits visit Mexico each year, but it’s not without risk.
Depending on where you’re travelling in Mexico, you could experience violent crime, air pollution and water and food safety issues. If you’re planning on visiting, it’s crucial to have comprehensive Travel Insurance. Here at AllClear, we’ll even offer protection if you have a pre-existing medical condition. Plus, we cover lost luggage, cancelled holidays, and travel delays.
Travel Insurance with comprehensive medical cover is a must-have for Mexico. Here’s why:
- Pickpocketing, theft, and muggings are common in major cities and tourist areas. Avoid displaying valuables and use ATMs during daylight hours or inside secure locations. Consider if you need a Gadget Cover add-on so you’re able to replace any valuables that get lost.
- Mexico has different levels of food hygiene than we are used to in the UK. Drinking only boiled or bottled water and avoiding ice in drinks can prevent waterborne illnesses like Cyclospora. There have been reports of counterfeit alcohol causing severe illness. Make sure you have proper medical cover in case you need treatment of any kind.
- Mosquito-borne diseases such as Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya are all present in Mexico. Taking precautions against mosquito bites is essential. Make sure you can be repatriated back to the UK if you need treatment.
Get peace of mind when travelling. At AllClear, we can cover: All medical conditions. All ages. All destinations. There’s a reason why 98% of our customers would recommend us to family and friends2.

“Mexico is a fun tourist destination, but travel always come with an element of risk. Whether it’s a fall on a hiking trail, an encounter with wildlife, or illness from food, it’s worth being prepared for the worst. But getting flown back to the UK for treatment can be tens of thousands of pounds, so it’s important to make sure medical repatriation is covered by your Travel Insurance policy.”
