GHIC and travelling to Cyprus
If you’re travelling to Cyprus your EHIC will remain valid until its expiry date, as long as it was issued before the end of 2020. Once your EHIC card has expired or is cancelled, it will be replaced with a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). The GHIC is still not a substitute for comprehensive medical Travel Insurance. Do you have the option to extend your trip?
If you have purchased a Single Trip policy and want to extend your holiday, please call one of our customer care agents. If you have an Annual Multi-Trip policy, you have the option to increase your length of stay per trip from the standard 45 days to 55 days.
