Travel Insurance for the Over 70s

During a recent survey we conducted, over a quarter of those aged 71-75 are planning on going on at least three holidays this year.

It’s hardly surprising given that those over 70 don’t have to worry about taking time off from work and can travel throughout the year.

Insurance that will protect you and your trip is vital when you travel.

Research based on the AllClear Annual Survey, January 2022. 1,103 respondents aged 70+.’

Getting insurance as a senior traveller can be challenging. Some suppliers cannot cover travellers over certain ages or with medical conditions.

If you travel more than once a year, look at one of our Annual Multi-Trip policies, which cover unlimited trips during the year.

You can also upgrade your policy to include cover for cruises, which are very popular with older travellers. Around 30% of UK cruise customers are over 70 years old, with a further 33% between 60 and 69 years old.

Popular cruise destinations from the UK include the Caribbean, Bahamas and Bermuda. While these destinations offer beautiful views and experiences, they also have high costs for medical treatment.

The last thing you want to worry about while on holiday is your health.

Our policies offer a minimum of £10 million cover for medical costs. Letting you travel without worrying about what you would do if you were to become ill abroad.

AllClear Over 70s policies cover all pre-existing medical conditions.

What is a pre-existing medical condition?

A pre-existing condition is any condition you’ve been diagnosed with or are taking a prescribed medication for in the last five years.

To ensure that we cover all your conditions, we take you through a medical screening as part of the quote. These questions are designed to be easy to answer, even without a medical degree.
We also include Superior Covid-19 cover free of charge, protecting you against more than most insurance policies.

Do you need insurance if you have a GHIC card?

A GHIC card entitles you to access healthcare while abroad. It does not cover all costs for medical treatment, so insurance which covers this is essential.

So get out there and explore the world, regardless of your age!
